Californian gets nice rebound after crashing out of both superbike races at Daytona; Hayden second, Hayes third, Young fourthâBeaubier tops DSB, Lewis quickest in Supersport, Wyman first in V&H XR
In a span of a few days, Ben Bostrom has gone from being the only rider to crash out of both Superbike races in Daytona to being the fastest Superbike rider at the two-day AMA Homestead-Miami Speedway test. Go figure.
The free spirit from Malibu has driven team managers crazy over the years with his unpredictability and this week was no different. Riding the same lilac and white Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 that he twice had to pick up off the ground at Daytona after losing the front, Bostrom clocked the fastest time in the last session of the test on the 2.21-mile, 14-turn road course.
Bostrom was also fastest in the seventh of eight sessions, spread over two days, but that time didnât put him on top. It was his 11th of 27 laps in the final session that became the benchmark no one else could meet.
