Ben Spies garnered his first Moto GP victory this weekend. Spies started second on the grid and narrowly missing pole position by 0.009s and finishing with a commanding 7.697 gap over series leader Casey Stoner.
Pole position winner Marco Simoncelli was another story. Simoncelli took out number one plate holder Jorge Lorenzo on the first lap, blaming it on a cold rear tire. Both went on to finish the race, Lorenzo finishing sixth and Simoncelli ninth. Lorenzo had this to say about the incident. "Of course he doesn’t want to take me out, that’s not his intention, but I think the problem is that he’s not very conscious about the risks there are in the category, with this bike and these tires,”
Cant wait to see what happens in Mugello.
